PRESIDENT of Singapore, Madam Halimah Yacob headed a gathering on 3rd April 2019 held in remembrance of the innocent lives that were lost in the Christchurch, New Zealand terror attack. The event at the Raffles Town Club was organised by the Inter-Religious Organisation, Singapore (IRO) and was supported by all faith communities here; also in attendance were several ambassadors who included the new High Commissioner of New Zealand, HE Jo Tyndall who was presented a book of handwritten condolences, titled Condolences Love and Prayer and flowers. Singapore has always made a conscious effort to work maintain towards racial and religious harmony and the IRO, which celebrates 70 years as an organisation this year sent a message: “Let us extend our hands of friendship to others by looking beyond our differences and focusing on our common values and our humanity.”
