In Uzbekistan Fund for stabilization of prices in domestic market established

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Decree “On urgent measures for reliable maintenance of the population of the Republic with main types of socially important food products”.

The document was adopted in order to meet the growing demand of the population for the main types of socially important food products, the strengthening of its purchasing power, preventing the formation of factors leading to higher prices, inflation expectations and lower real incomes.

The decree established a National commission for monitoring and control of prices of basic socially significant food products, headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.Aripov.

The document instructed to set up a special Fund, the main goal of which will be the stabilization of prices in the domestic consumer market. The Fund is set to be formed at the expense of resources of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan in an amount equivalent to $100mn.
